The Oxnard Public Library is pleased to host Dr. Elizabeth Brewer who will give a presentation designed to educate parents about bullying and its technological counterpart of cyberbullying. The discussion is free and will take place on Saturday, April 21, from 3 to 4 PM at the Main Downtown Library, Meeting Room B, 251 South A Street.
Parents don’t have to be computer savvy in order to offer helpful advice with cyberbullying. Dr. Brewer will provide strategies parents can use to aid their children with handling this problem.
Elizabeth Brewer has an Ed.D. degree from Loyola Marymount University and is a visiting professor in their Department of Specialized Programs in Urban Education. She conducts research in the use of technology as a tool to educate middle school students about cyberbullying and its dangers. She is a member of the Culver City Unified School District’s Anti-Bullying Task Force and speaks about cyberbullying at conferences and schools across the country.
